Listed here are various programs which bring distinguished persons to
our program to deliver lectures and interact with our students and faculty,
along with a listing of the lecturers and their topics.
Vernon L. Snoeyink Distinguished Visiting Lecturer in Environmental
Engineering and Science
Each year the faculty in the Environmental Engineering and Science program
invites a distinguished person in environmental engineering or a related
field to visit the campus for several days. During this time, the Lecturer
delivers a public lecture, widely publicized, preferably on a broad topic.
In addition, he or she gives other seminars, meets with various research
groups, attends and/or participate in undergraduate classes, and meets
with faculty members in his or her area of specialization. The Lecturer
is selected on the basis of distinction in his or her field and ability
to communicate valuable information, ideas, and opinions to faculty, graduate
students, and undergraduates. This series began in Spring, 2000.
