The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invites applications for four full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty positions; all ranks will be considered. The Department seeks to expand its expertise in emerging interdisciplinary areas that are critical in addressing global challenges through innovative education and research. Desired areas of expertise are: Geotechnical Engineering, including Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering; Environmental Fluid Mechanics; Microbiomes of the Natural and Built Environment; Multifunctional Materials for Energy and Environmental Sustainability; and Urban Infrastructure Resilience to Extreme Events. EES Seminar (CEE 595 AG) will be held on Thursdays from 12:00-1:00 PM in 1518 Hydrosystems. Speakers lists for the EES Seminar and all other CEE seminars can be found in the Department calendar.
The 2013 AEESP Distinguished Lecturer, Mark C.M. van Loosdrecht (Department of Biotechnology, TU Delft, the Netherlands) will be visiting the EES program in March 2014. Final dates are TBD. Professor van Loosdrecht will give a series of lectures and meet with students and faculty in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering.
